Hudgen Center for the Arts

Duluth, GA 30096

The Hudgens Center for the Arts always has a need for volunteers and their welcome assistance. Volunteers may join our Arts League to be part of our formal volunteer organization, or may simply contact The Hudgens directly to ask to be put on our volunteer list.

The Arts League
The Arts League is an organization formed to coordinate our volunteers and their work. In addition, Arts League volunteers regularly gather for lunch with an informative art-related theme and tour of exhibits.

Individuals can join our Arts League for a modest $25 annual fee, and choose to assist with any of the following activities:

Field Trip Docent – tours for day care and elementary school children are held on various Tuesdays and Thursday throughout the year. Volunteers are needed for each tour to greet the classes, direct them through the exhibits, and assist with a simple art project. A training session will be held prior to each new exhibit or tour.

Special Events/Fundraisers – assist the staff at on-site events and receptions, including greeting the public and/or assisting in the Art Shop.

Administrative Support – assist the staff with various administrative duties, such as with database entry, mailings and other general office duties.

Art Shop – provide receptionist and sales assistance on Saturdays or at special events.

Gardening – join the garden club that maintains the award-winning Al Weeks Sculpture Garden, planting seasonal flowers and performing routine maintenance on an ‘as needed’ and collaborative basis.
