Here is a list of frequently asked questions. If you have a question that is not answered below, please contact us, we'll add it.
What do you do at VolunteerGwinnett.com?
We offer chartitable, non-profit, and municipal organizations a place to advertise volunteer opportunities available in Gwinnett County GA and adjoining areas. Think of us as a central point to help you find the right volunteer opportunity for you!
Why did you create this website? What's in it for you?
We'll answer the second question first: what's in it for us is the same that is in it for you, the opportunity to give back to our community. This website is our way of helping the people of Gwinnett County. Life is simply better when we all help each other in some way.  The Golden Rule describes it pretty well: do unto others as you want them to do unto you.  We have all needed help from someone at some time, right? (If you said no, I hope your mother didn't hear you). So if we are able, let's help others in return.

We all have unique talents we can contribute in some way, and these talents are all equally important in God's plan.

We haven't forgotten to answer the first question: we created VolunteerGwinnett.com to collect various volunteer and donation opportunities county-wide and allow you to find them all in one place. It began with County government opportunities and soon expanded to non-profit organizations. All the information on VolunteerGwinnett.com is available on the Internet if you want to search for it; we put it here, and the Internet makes it available and convenient to access 24/7. We hope this compilation makes it easier to find the right opportunity for you. If you find something interesting, you can visit their website via a link in the listing, send an email, make a call, and get involved.

And it's absolutely true that you will get as much or more out of it as those you help!
Do you match people with volunteer opportunities?
No, we want you to pick the right opportunity for you.  Browse the listings and when you see one that interests you please contact the advertiser directly.
If I know of a volunteer opportunity, can I send it to you?
Yes, please do! If you are an organization, please register and create your listing. If you are not with an organization and know of an opportunity we can look into further, please use our Contact Us page and send us an email.
Creating & Managing Listings
How do I Create a Listing?
If you belong to a qualified organization, first register and create a free account.  Registering allows you to create listings and gives you access to all the info in your ads so you can make changes at any time.

Once you are registered, click on "My Account" located in the upper right corner of every page. This is your "Ad Central" for everything related to your account.  In "My Account", you begin the process of creating a listing by selecting the category for your listing (and you are welcome to use several categories if it suits what you do). Follow the simple steps and your listing is ready.  Click "Run", and once we approve it, your ad will appear. Once your ads are created, you will be able to view and manage your ads in "My Account".
Do I Have to Register to Create Ads?

Yes, you must be a registered user to create ads to promote your opportunity. Registration is free and we ask for very little information. The best part about registration is that once you do so, you will have direct access to your ads at any time. Once you log in, you can edit content, delete an ad, change contact info, etc, any time or any day you like. So let's say it's 9 PM on a Saturday night, and you think of something you want to change in your listing - you can do it.

What Category Should I Put My listing In?

Choose the category that best fits your organization, we have many available. If we didn't provide what you think would be the most appropriate category, send us an email.  We can always create a special category for you if the situation calls for it.

What is a Featured Listing?
Being featured means your listing appears on the Home Page. Featured or not, your listings are always available through the Search area and in their designated category.
What is the difference between an Ad and a Listing?
There's no difference.  An Ad is the same as a Listing, and vice versa. We use the words interchangably, primarily when we would rather type two letters instead of seven.
I created an ad but it does not show up in the search results. Why?

You need to select and click on "Run" in order to run your ad. If you clicked on "Draft" you have saved it for later.  Go to "My Account" and click on "Run" to the left of the listing you wish to run. Your listing will run as soon as your ad is approved.

How do I end my listing?

From the "My Account" page, click on the "Stop" link to the left of the listing you wish to stop running.

If I have more questions, how do I contact you?
Vist our Contact Us page and send us an email.

We are happy to comply with your wishes.  You can have all your personal information remain private. Update your personal privacy preferences from the " My Account " page.

If all my information is private how can a prospective volunteer contact me?

When your listing appears, instead of showing your contact information the following appears: "This advertiser has chosen to remain private. You may contact this advertiser via anonymous email by clicking here." The prospective volunteer completes an on-line form and the system sends you an email without revealing your information to the prospective volunteer.

A prospective volunteer can always visit your website and contact you through the channels you have set up. We include your website address in the listing.
